Dire Straits celebration with live concert in London on November 19, 2016, where Alchemy was played
The World's Greatest Dire Straits Show is coming to the UK capital. With a worldwide reputation for being ‘the greatest Dire Straits tribute rock band', Italian Dire Straits will be talking the walk of life to the UK and performing - for the first time - in London on 19 November 2016.
Showing at The Eventim Apollo, formerly the Hammersmith Odeon, tickets have now gone on sale. The venue is of special importance, as 33 years ago it was here where original British rock band Dire Straits led by the great Mark Knopfler recorded their double album, ‘Alchemy: Dire Straits Live'.
Italian Dire Straits is made up of six highly accomplished musicians. They have toured the globe to bring a stunning Dire Straits experience to the thousands. Renowned as being ‘second only to the real thing', the over two-hour show will feature extended live versions of incredible hits of Mark Knopfler, including Sultans of Swing, Tunnel of Love, Romeo and Juliet, Walk of Life, So Far Away, Private Investigations, You Latest Trick, Brothers in Arms, Telegraph Road and Money for Nothing.
Max Lisa, founder of the band, comments: "We are absolutely delighted to be bringing our show to London. It means so much to us to be able to perform in the very same venue where the original Dire Straits performed their infamous Alchemy album. For the first time in 33 years that incredible music will be played again in that rock temple! We are promising a night to remember!"
