BBC Good Food Show Spring tastes success in Harrogate
The launch of the BBC Good Food Show Spring held in Harrogate on 25-27 April experienced an overwhelming attendance, attracting more than 15,000 visitors and 136 exhibitors. Harrogate International Centre (HIC) director Simon Kent commented that it was “the best opening for a consumer show in the last 10 years”.
Organised by River Street Events, the show boasted a range of new features that included an area dedicated to local producers in the Deliciouslyorkshire Market; the BBC Good Food Bakes & Cakes Village; plus a Producers’ Village showcasing small artisan producers.
Over the three days there were 19 sell-out demonstrations, from chefs including James Martin, John Torode, Mary Berry and Dave Myers from the Hairy Bikers.
River Street Events Managing Director Laura Biggs, commented: “We were overwhelmed by the response of our launch of the BBC Good Food Show Spring in Harrogate, the Royal Hall provided the most spectacular backdrop for our live cookery demonstrations and we are looking forward to a bigger and better show next year.”
Simon Kent added: “Bringing the BBC Good Food Show to Harrogate has been one of the high points here at the HIC. To see the show prove such a success is obviously a fantastic result and we are already working with River Street to make sure next year’s event sees the BBC Good Food Show Spring established as one of the most eagerly anticipated public events in Yorkshire.”
