Clothes Show Live celebrates 25 years
Haymarket’s Clothes Show Live, the UK's largest fashion event, is celebrating reaching the quarter century mark on the closing day (10th December) of this year's show at the NEC, Birmingham.
Gavin Brown, managing director of Haymarket Exhibitions, commented: “When we started out, we wanted to create an event that would inspire and educate.
“This year Clothes Show Live is celebrating a significant milestone. Very few organisers can say that they have reached 25 years and are still successful. All we’ve ever wanted and strived for is for people to walk out of the show with a smile on their face, saying that they’ve had a great day and have got something out of it.”
The anniversary was marked with a spectacular chocolate sculpture from Brighton-based chocolatier Choccywoccydoodah, which was presented by fashion-industry legend Caryn Franklin to Gavin Brown.
Standing at more than three feet tall, the cake was inspired by iconic British fashion designer Zandra Rhodes’ iconic portrait illustration and signature ‘squiggles’.
Zandra Rhodes revealed that she exhibited at the first ever Clothes Show Live in 1986. “I am proud to celebrate 25 years of Clothes Show Live; it is an inspiring event that is stronger and better than ever,” said Rhodes.
