Paul Michael announced as new AEO Chairman
The Association of Event Organisers (AEO) has nominated Paul Michael, CEO and managing director of Quartz Business Media, as its new chairman.
Paul accepted the nomination at the AEO Board Meeting on 25th September. He will be taking over the role from Stephen Brooks.
On accepting the position, Paul commented: “I’m delighted to accept the board’s nomination. The industry, and therefore the AEO, face a challenging and interesting time over the next few years and my goal is to ensure the AEO is up to that challenge.”
The association’s CEO, Karim Halwagi, added: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Paul as chair for the next two years. Apart from his years of experience built upon the huge success of his own business, Paul enables a seamless transition as he has already been vice-chair and is fully apprised of the goals for the association. Paul’s acceptance to chair the AEO provides a strong level of consistency that is crucial to the effectiveness of an organisation.”
The AEO is a trade body representing companies which conceive, create, develop or manage trade and consumer events. It is run by its members for the benefit of its members through an elected council of representatives, specialist working groups and a fulltime secretariat.
