Event Production Awards unveils new line-up
The Event Production Awards will return with new categories, judges and venue, on the evening of 11th February 2014 at Earls Court 2, the same venue as the Event Production Show.
The ceremony will recognise 2013’s top suppliers, manufacturers, teams and individuals across 18 categories, with Best Event under 15,000 people, Best Event over 15,000 people; Best Production Manager/Team, Best Plant, Best Infrastructure and Best Sound new for 2014.
“Earls Court 2 offers such a vast space we thought it would be ideal to hold the show and awards in the same venue,” said Mash Media’s event director, Donna Bushell. “Not only does it offer more scope for staging and dressing the evening, there are no height restrictions imposed by the venue for example, but it also means the build of a live event will happen during the show - what better way to showcase what our industry can achieve.”
Entries for awards are now being accepted and will close on 31 October. The shortlist will be published in the December/January issue of Access All Areas, with the winners announced at a black tie dinner, hosted by Nic Howden, editor-in-chief, Access All Areas.
The awards will be judged by Chris Salmon, event operations director at Goodwood; Colin Rodger, head of event management, DF Concerts and Mark Ward, managing director at Proper Productions. New to the line-up will be Jim King, event director at Loud Sound; Paul Ludford, senior partner of APL, and Claire Sampson, director at creative agency Just Add Water.
“The Event Production Awards created a real sense of excitement during last year’s Event Production Show so we are confident the changes we are making will only heighten this for 2014,” added Bushell. “With so many talented individuals and teams working on live events, I am sure it will be a superb occasion for networking, sharing experiences and celebrating.”
