The latest edition of The UK Exhibition Facts contains good and bad news for the industry.

The annual survey shows that in 2005 there were 944 exhibitions reported at the 44 UK venues with more that 2,000 sq m of exhibition space compared to 918 in 2004. The rise represents an increase of three per cent over 2004 and17 per cent over 2003 and is said to be an encouraging trend.

However, visitor numbers continue to decline with 8.9 million recorded at shows in 2004. Although a decrease compared to 2004 the figure nevertheless represents a slight increase over 2003.
