E-learning conference set to bring together Yorkshire expertise
<p>The University of Leeds has been confirmed as the location for the forthcoming UK Association for Learning Technology annual conference. </p><p>The event, which is due to take place between September 9 and 11, looks set to draw some of the world's leading experts in digital technologies to the Yorkshire city, with this year's even to focus especially on getting smaller businesses involved in new technology and bridging the current 'digital divide'. </p><p>Among those delegates due to attend will be Gilly Salmon, Professor of e-learning and learning technology at the University of Leicester, with the event to be sponsored by regional development agency Yorkshire Forward as well as Yorkshire and Humber's Digital 2010 partnership. </p><p>Following on from a welcome dinner and speech, to be given by the executive director of economic inclusion at Yorkshire Forward, Thea Stein, delegates and guests will be able to benefit from lectures, seminar and round-table discussions, the organisers have revealed. </p><p>In addition, the opening and closing dinners will be used to showcase the skills being developed by students at the nearby Thomas Danby College, thereby further enhancing the region's reputation as a leading conferencing and events venue. <img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18700431-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
