<p>Some of the world''''s leading nuclear physicists are set to head to the north-west of England next month for a major two-day conference. </p><p>Coming as the UK government is putting together plans to roll out a new generation of nuclear power plants, Sellafield will welcome more than 50 delegates from across Europe, as well as those from the US, Japan and South Africa. </p><p>According to organisers, the event, which is the 45th annual meeting of the Hot Laboratories and Remote Handling Working Group, will include a number of presentations and lectures by leading scientists, in addition to a tour of the plant''''s nuclear facilities. </p><p>Among the issues to be discussed are remote handling techniques, health and safety, waste handling and transportation, while the future of the industry will also be the subject of much discussion. </p><p>The conference will take place between 22nd and 23rd September, with international delegates likely to take advantage of the excellent air travel links offered by the nearby Manchester Airport in order to get to the Cumbrian venue. <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18753879-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
