<p>A new family-run conference centre has opened its doors in Thornby, intent on appealing to event organisers from businesses across the region, reports gazettelive.co.uk.</p><p>The M M Banqueting and Conference Suites offer state-of-the-art facilities for a wide range of functions, from corporate events through to proms, parties and workshops. The new development was designed and refurbished by businessman Mehboob Ahmad, who spent £1.75 million developing the Jamal Building after his father's clothing business, M M Knitwear, the previous occupant, was forced to close.</p><p>Mr Ahmad kept the M&M name in honour of his father and has now designed a multi-functional venue which should appeal to conference organisers and workshops alike.
