<p>Businesses in Brighton and Hove are looking to attract more conference organisers and regular tourists as a result of the weak pound, reports the Argus.</p><p>Tourism offices in the region have launched a series of promotional campaigns intended to encourage both British and foreign tourists to hotels and businesses in the Brighton and Hove area. The campaigns are working, with holiday bookings having risen by over 20 per cent on last year's figures while inquiries from Europe have also risen.</p><p>Ashley Proctor, manager of the Cavendish Hotel in Eastbourne, told the paper: "Some companies that would normally hold their conferences in Europe are holding them over here."</p><p>The pound has recently fallen to historic lows against the euro, meaning that foreign tourists, be they holidaymakers or event organisers, have a chance to get more for their money in the UK.</p><p>According to the Argus, the Brighton Centre redevelopment - priced at £400 million - looks likely to go ahead as Brighton and Hove City Council and Standard Life are now looking for a development team.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18984764-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
