Isle of Wight festival 'to use sustainability system'
<p>The Isle of Wight festival is implementing an online management system to ensure it is as sustainable as possible.</p><p><a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="_self">Event organisers</a> are working with the ECO Action Partnership and using the "eventberry" technology to track the environmental standard of the festival, according to Event magazine.</p><p>The aim is to make the gig compliant with the BS89021 sustainability benchmark, according to the news provider.</p><p>"It's a great example of how modern technology can help make events more sustainable," said Andrew Williams, managing director of Seventeen Events, which is also working on the project.</p><p>Mr Williams added that the system would record all the details necessary to comply with BS8901.</p><p>The headline acts for this year's festival include The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Razorlight and Neil Young.</p><p>Also performing at the event, which runs from Friday June 12th to Sunday June 14th, are Basement Jaxx, Maximo Park, Pendulum, White Lies, The Ting Tings, Simple Minds, The Script and Pixies. <br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19195772-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
