Great start for Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show ‘09
The group travel world descended upon Hall 11 of the NEC Birmingham today, as the 2009 Group Leisure & Travel Trade Show (GLTT) opened its doors.
Up to 2,000 group travel organisers and travel trade professionals are expected over the two days, in search of fresh ideas, great deals and meeting contacts, new and old. The exhibition is the only event of its kind at the NEC and, with the high quality of visitors attending the exhibition, repeat bookings have already been made by exhibitors for the 2010 show.
Faye Thompson from Future Travel Cruise commented: “We’ve had people come up to us this morning who saw us here last year and they made a specific journey to come to us. We sat down and had a chat with them and we’ve secured a group of 30 to 40 people with Fred. Olson Cruise Lines, so they’re over the moon. It’s been absolutely worthwhile for us and we’ve had some really good leads.”
Visit Blackpool’s Julie Holland said: “This morning’s been really busy for us, we’ve been non-stop! Lots of enquiries which has been really nice. We’ve had some excellent feedback. We’re planning an even bigger and better stand for next year, hopefully to promote some future events that we’ve got coming to the region.”
Emma Lay from the Coventry Transport Museum echoed these sentiments saying: “This is the only show that we’re going to attend this year and so far we’ve had some really good leads. We spoken to some genuinely interested people and we’re really pleased.”
Show organiser, Emma Cash said: “It’s been wonderful to see all the hard work pay off with both visitors and exhibitors commenting on how essential they feel the exhibition is.”
The show is open 10am to 4.30pm on Wednesday 23rd September and 10am to 4pm on Thursday 24th September.
