Women Champion Golf Show
An impressive line-up of female golfers will be at the NEC Golf Show as part of the English Women’s Golf Association’s (EWGA) support for the event.
Current English women’s champion Charlie Douglass, from Hertfordshire, last year’s title holder, Hannah Barwood, from Gloucestershire, and former French under-21 champion Rachel Jennings, from Staffordshire, will all be visiting the three-day event along with Sian James, from Gloucestershire, whose University of Birmingham team won the World Student Matchplay Championship.
The quartet will be at the show to talk to visitors on the EWGA stand about their experiences in national and international competitions as well as explaining the organisation’s role as the governing body for women and girls’ amateur golf in England.
They will also be interviewed on the show’s stage and taking on visitors in a nearest-the-pin challenge on the show’s state-of-the-art simulators.
Golf Show Group CEO Colin Brunton said: “It’s fantastic to have a group of such talented young golfers coming to the show just so they can spread the EWGA message. It’s that sort of passion for golf that brings thousands of people to our shows.
“We’re delighted to have the EWGA at the show. We do all we can to cater for women at our shows and to have the support of the association is a real feather in our cap.”
The EWGA will also be running various competitions on their stand with PING equipment and Heidsieck Champagne up for grabs.
The NEC Golf Show takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre from November 27-29 and will showcase everything golf from big-brand equipment to the latest gadgets and the best places to play and stay.
