Visit York to unveil portfolio for event organisers at Confex
York and Scarborough are joining forces to promote the North Yorkshire region to the events industry.
Conference York, an arm of Visit York, is to expand its portfolio of venues to include Scarborough and the North York Moors, as well as the Yorkshire coast.
The portfolio of more than 100 meeting and conference venues will be officially unveiled for event organisers at the Confex exhibition being held at Earls Court in February.
Confex is the UK's leading show for event organisers, with attendances hitting almost 15,000 last year, up by two per cent compared to the year before.
"By joining forces with Visit York we will have a formidable conference and event offering to rival anywhere in Britain," said Aviva Pearson, chief executive of the Yorkshire Moors and Coast Tourism Partnership.
Kate McMullen, marketing manager for Visit York, described the region as the "perfect backdrop" for executive meetings, team building and incentive trips.
