EC&O’s new events for 2011 herald renewed growth in the industry
Earls Court and Olympia are proud to announce a range of new shows for 2011 heralding the renewed growth of the event industry. The first quarter alone will see seven new shows launching at EC&O Venues.
The TNT Travel Show is London’s largest free travel exhibition and comes to Earls Court on 19 March. The venue was the clear choice for an event that exceeded expectations in 2010, with a 30% increase in visitors. The Earls Court area also has a longstanding Australian community. Affiliated with TNT Magazine - regarded as the bible for South Africans, New Zealanders and Australians living in London – the event expects in excess of 10,000 visitors, over just one day.
On the same weekend a brand new launch comes in the form of the Big Scuba Show at Olympia, from 19-20 February. Organised by Bluestone Events on behalf of Dive Magazine – the best-selling scuba-diving magazine in the UK – the show will deliver the latest kit, the hottest dive destinations, dive experts and interactive features, including try-diving and virtual free-diving.
Five new trade events follow. The Bangladesh Clothing Show begins in Olympia Two from 23-24 February, bringing producers and buyers face to face. Data Centre World is already well-established, and the move to Olympia (2-3 March) will allow the exhibition and conference for data centre managers to continue its successful growth.
The Online Advertising and Affiliate Marketing Expo will be the UK's only event dedicated to serving the entire advertising community. It’s a new launch from UBM, the organisers of Technology for Marketing & Advertising ‘TFM&A’, and takes place from 1-2 March in Earls Court Two.
Also, from 16-17 March, Earls Court will host the Retail Business Technology Expo; a brand new trade event offering technology solutions for the retail industry, combining an exhibition of suppliers with free seminars & workshops plus networking opportunities. Targeting the 400 billion retail, hospitality, and leisure and travel market industry, this is set to be an important launch for Legend Exhibitions.
Lastly, the Social Media World Forum has grown beyond its initial conference status to become a fully-fledged confex - showing how far social media and events have come in the last 12 months. It can be visited at Olympia from 29-30 March.
Group MD Nigel Nathan had this to say: “It’s really encouraging that the events industry is clearly recovering from a very difficult period. At EC&O Venues we aim to nurture young shows and provide solid foundations for new organisers, and I’m proud to say that this is reflected in this exciting portfolio of new events.”
