Wayne Hemingway joins Event Production Show's Access Sessions panel
Wayne Hemingway MBE, co-founder of British fashion brand, Red or Dead and multi-disciplinary design agency, Hemingway Design, is the first panellist to be confirmed for the hugely popular Access Sessions at the Event Production Show 2015.
Wayne's career has spanned the fashion, housing, urban design and festival industries, and he will draw on his experiences launching the Vintage Festival, The Festival of Thrift , the Classic Car Boot Sale and some exciting new national initiatives to spark a lively debate.
One of the event industry’s current ‘hot topics’, the gentrification of festivals, explores whether or not the introduction of designated VIP areas, luxury showers and toilets, technology charging stations and similar ‘glamping’ amenities are beneficial to a festival’s reputation. Are they too much of a drastic change from the artistic, alternative ethos traditionally associated with outdoor festivals or simply a natural evolution that appeals to a more widespread audience? Wayne and his fellow panellists (yet to be unveiled) will discuss when the Session takes to the Main Stage on February 19th at 11am.
Liz Agostini, event director, commented: “We are delighted to announce Wayne as a guest panellist for one of the Show’s Access Sessions and fully expect it to be a hotly anticipated debate. Each year, we strive to create content that is challenging, educational and most importantly, relevant to our diverse audience. We are pleased to make this announcement and look forward to revealing further information about this year’s exciting programme.”
Hemingway will appear courtesy of Speakers Corner, the world leading speaker agency who provide presenters and hosts for events.
The Access Sessions will take place on the main stage, providing visitors with information and insight into current trends within the event industry, including a discussion on ‘The Importance of Opening and Closing Ceremonies to the Cultural Heritage and Legacy of Large Sporting Events’. Further debates and discussions will be staged in the seminar theatre. Full details of the speaker programme will be announced soon.
