UK subsea industry announce London conference plans
<p>The booming UK subsea oil and gas industry has announced that it is to host an international conference in London later this year. </p><p>Due to be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, in the north of the capital on October 30th, Subsea Europe aims to allow businesses operating within the sector to showcase their skills and technology. </p><p>In addition, it is expected that some of the latest technology will be on display, allowing delegates to gain an appreciation of the future of the subsea industry, which is estimated to be worth as much as £4.5 billion. </p><p>Commenting on the significance of the event, David Pridden, chief executive of Subsea UK, stated: "The UK subsea sector has grown by 25 per cent in each of the last two years. It employs 40,000 people across the UK and exports 50 per cent of its products and services. </p><p>"This London event, focused on the European and dynamic West African markets, will enable us to communicate these messages to a more diverse audience such as the financial, marine and renewable sectors. Greater understanding of our potential will ensure that it can be fully exploited by UK based companies."</p><p>At the end of the one-day conference, delegates will be invited to a networking dinner at the London Aquarium, it has also been confirmed. <img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-18653740-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
