Thorns secure long-term Boat Show deal
After many years of being its main furniture supplier, Thorns was asked to completely re-designed the show’s Torch Restaurant, to include its latest Vision range. In a funky black and red colour scheme, the furniture included hi-tables in black and hi-stools in red, Dali tables and chairs, and a red and black bar with an interchangeable panel in red with the Torch logo embellished in the centre.
As in previous years, Thorns accommodated the show to include its office furniture range in a cherry wood finish. Items used included desks, pedestals and lockable cupboards.
Thorns supplied items such as cane furniture, beech and chrome occasional chairs, bar furniture, teak café furniture and teak garden furniture, for many of the traditional areas of the site such as the VIP hospitality suites, exhibitors’ hall, organisers’ offices, sponsors’ area and various lounges and bars.
Georgina Coles, operations manager at the Southampton Boat Show, said: “We are very pleased that we have Thorns on board for the next two years. Thorns tailor to our needs exceptionally and they have a wide variety of furniture to compliment our special features that we have in the show.”
Thorns Group has secured a contract to supply to the world-famous PSP Southampton Boat Show in association with ITV Meridian up to, and including, 2009.
After successfully supplying office furniture to the show for many years, Thorns has now become a long-term supplier to the nautical extravaganza, which most recently took place between 14 and 23 September. The event showcased HMS Bounty, famed for the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. Attracting over 125,000 visitors, the show was the biggest of its kind, with visitors enjoying 600 exhibitors and over 370 boats afloat at the Hydropool Marina.
