TGI event organisers and PGA to develop major golf show
TGI Golf and The Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) are joining forces to create Europe's largest trade show for the sport.
The two organisations have signed a five-year deal with Harrogate International Centre (HIC), on the understanding that the event will be able to use the two new exhibition halls in 2011, covering an extra 3,400 sq m of space.
Stuart Quin, director of the HIC, said that he was "delighted" with the deal, adding that event organisers at the conference centre were looking forward to working with TGI to develop the show over the longer term.
"Our new halls offer our clients plenty of additional space and the overall redevelopment plans also demonstrate our commitment and support for client expansion," he added.
Eddie Reid, managing director of TGI, said that the show was a "huge opportunity" for golf suppliers and the PGA.
The deal follows £6 million worth of trade and association contracts secured by the HIC in July.
