Showplans announce appointment of Richard Nicholls
Showplans has continued to grow its development team, with Richard Nicholls joining this autumn to accelerate the development of the ShowplannerMobile and ShowplannerWeb apps. In his role as Senior Web Developer, Richard will spearhead the process of adding several new features and modules to the apps over the coming months.
ShowplannerWeb and ShowplannerMobile compliment each other to enable event visitors to plan in advance and then connect with exhibitors while at a show.
Prior to joining Showplans, Richard's work at Peter Gabriel's Real World Records and WOMAD festival as Senior Web Developer and Consultant included building the CNN-featured Grab Your Sledgehammer Facebook app, and he has also used his expertise in a diverse range of platforms including PHP, MySQL, HTML 5, CSS 3 and JavaScript to create apps, bespoke software solutions and SEO-optimised websites.
Speaking on Richard's arrival, Showplans CEO Adam Jones commented: “We are always on the lookout for talent to take the development of our Showplanner app to the next stage, and Richard fits the bill on every level, not to mention that he happens to live just around the corner from our Tisbury office! He has really brought a new dimension to our development team and we are already finding out what he is capable of.”
Richard added: "I’m really excited about the opportunity I have at Showplans to apply what I’ve learnt in my previous work, including some exciting new tools not yet seen in this industry. I’m currently working on a Show Management Portal that allows show organisers to view statistics and set up push notifications for ShowplannerMobile, a brand new diary system and a major redesign of the Exhibitor Portal which will allow exhibitors to view a range of statistics on their performance. It’s really fast-paced, and I'm already relishing the challenge."
