Olympia London reports 200% year-on-year growth
Venue management at Olympia London have reported a 200 per cent increase in the number of new events at Olympia West.
In 2013 the venue celebrated 125 years with £30m worth of investment, the launch of Olympia West and a huge raft of shows moving from Earls Court. The trend has continued with more shows than ever choosing Olympia London’s West and Central spaces to launch or expand in.
The number of newcomer shows - defined as brand new or relocating shows - to the two spaces has increased by 60 per cent this year. Its Conference Centre has also reported a 26 per cent leap in bookings for the year ahead.
The London Book Fair, Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show and SITS15 are among the trade and consumer shows relocating this year.
Media 10 announced that as of 2015, it will be moving all of its Earls Court based events to Olympia, including Ideal Home Show, Ideal Home Show at Christmas and 100% Design.
In 2014, the team invested £4m in projects, as part of an ongoing investment programme that amounts to £40+ million spent since 2010.
Nick Graham, head of sales at Olympia commented: “We are attracting more business from new revenue streams every week, including in the live events and corporate events markets, which these transformable blank canvas spaces are ideal for.
“Organisers of small to medium-sized events like the West London location we offer, the unmatched expertise of our teams and the potential the two connecting West and Central spaces offer to grow a show over time.”
