Innovation and insight: ESSA announces inspirational G50+ programme
ESSA has announced a major sponsor and released a packed final programme for its ‘G50+Conference’, to be held on 12 July 2011 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London. The programme focuses on innovation, insight and inspiration, and brings together presentations from some of the industry’s top names, as well as a keynote session from Tony Wallis of headline conference sponsor Toyota Materials Handling UK.
The full day conference will kick off with an in-depth session on the innovative Toyota Production System from Tony Wallis, Operations Director. This system, developed to help Toyota merge company acquisitions and successfully applied to manufacturing processes within a major supermarket chain, could revolutionise processes within the events services industry.
Other speakers include Phil Soar, following up on his session from G50 2008 on industry trends in the past and future, and Nigel Nathan of EC&O Venues on the significant investments leading to some major changes and developments at Olympia. Both of these sessions will look at the changes in the market, venue and industry landscape.
James Gower of Marine Industry Events will outline the circumstances surrounding the unprecedented cancellation of the Liverpool Boat Show following the loss of contracted exhibitors and the potential long-term impacts that this, and other industry changes, will have on the industry.
On the financial front, Andy Healy of Towergate Financial will talk about planning ahead for the pension reform and provide both guidance and action plans, and Adrian Houston of Kingston Smith provides a health check following the first six months of the new VAT rules, and launch the ‘Kingston Smith – ESSA VAT Guide’. These sessions alone could save you the cost of your ESSA membership!
The programme allows plenty of time for networking, catches up with old colleagues and making new contacts across the industry, and Kevin Dendy, the Managing Director of Grand Slam Events Ltd, will round up the meeting with the buyer’s view of the industry.
"The ‘G50+Conference’ programme is packed full with top-flight speakers and we hope that their insight and innovation will inspire delegates to greater heights in the events and exhibitions industry," says Chris Skeith, Director, ESSA.
Every ESSA member will have the opportunity to get one free VIP delegate place to the conference – don’t forget to go to the ESSA website to activate your ticket, book your dinner or reserve spaces for colleagues. Supporting sponsors for the 2011 G50 are Aztec Event Services Ltd, Alfa Display & Design Ltd, Hotelzon UK Ltd, and ESSA’s Marketing Partner - Towergate Coverex Ltd.
