Industry to Brief MP’s on UK Events Industry
The Business Visits & Events Partnership (BVEP) will host an exclusive government briefing at the House of Commons as part of the Britain for Events campaign. The event, sponsored by Nick de Bois MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, will take place in the House of Commons Members Dining Room on 5th September 2012.
The event is open only to members of the BVEP and partners and supporters of the Britain for Events campaign. Government ministers, members of both Houses of Parliament, as well as senior representatives and policy leaders from DCMS, UKTI, UK Sport and BIS, will be invited to attend.
“We’re looking to maintain our presence in front of this important audience and present a chance for leaders within the events industry to influence senior ministers, politicians and business representatives,” comments Michael Hirst, Chair of the Business Visits & Events Partnership and campaign spokesperson for Britain for Events.
The event will take place following the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations, immediately after the London 2012 Olympic Games and under thebackdrop of the Paralympic Games, underlining the massive opportunity these events present to showcase the creativity and professionalism of the UK events industry.
“We unveiled our message to policy makers and the wider business industry at the Britain for Events launch last week and this is just one of the activities we have planned to carry the message to each of our target audiences,” Hirst continued.
The Britain for Events campaign has published a 20-12 fact sheet for members of the events industry to distribute widely among buyers of meetings and events. The literature is hosted on the campaign website and outlines 20 reasons why business should support the industry, and the 12 opportunities for growth for the industry.
