Howzat! Thorns secures high-profile Lord’s work
The venture, which was launched earlier this year, is providing temporary back-of-house personnel as the “home of cricket” hosts many of the year’s biggest sporting spectaculars.
Thorns’ staff have already been on hand for England’s victorious First npower Test against the West Indies and for a number of thrilling fixtures during this summer’s ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
And having already helped during visits by the likes of South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Thorns is back in strength for one of this summer’s most anticipated clashes – England’s Ashes battle against mighty Australia, which will see the sides in action at Lord’s from this Thursday (July 16).
Thorns Support Services Managing Director Wayne Smith said: “Lord’s is rightly regarded as the home of cricket, so the very highest standards are essential to protecting its global reputation. We see the relationship that has already developed between Lord’s and Thorns as being a tremendous tribute to the quality of our personnel and the service we provide.”
He added: “For a fledging business such as Thorns Support Services to secure such a high-profile contract is a fantastic vote of confidence in the quality and commitment of our entire team.”
As well as providing personnel such as kitchen porters during high-profile cricket matches, Thorns Support Services is working with Lord’s during non-sporting events. The world-famous London venue is a favourite location for a broad range of activities including meetings, conferences, exhibitions, product launches, weddings and private parties.
