Grand Designs Live sees record visitor numbers
A record number of visitors browsed exhibition stands at the Grand Designs Live show in Birmingham, with 30 per cent more people attending compared to 2008.
In total, 40,000 visitors passed through the gates during the three days of the show, which was opened by the presenter of the Grand Designs TV programme, Kevin McLoud.
Rob Nathan, group marketing director at event organisers Media 10, described the figures as "staggering".
"The market is starting to become more buoyant so it is really positive for the exhibition industry," he added.
"It's been a hugely successful show with incredible numbers of consumers through the doors," added Lee Newton, managing director of the firm.
Over 500 exhibitors were present at the show, as well as a host of celebrities, including George Clarke, architect and renovations expert on channel 4's Home show.
The news follows a similar report from event organisers at the National Wedding Show, who said they were pleasantly surprised by the turnout at the exhibition from October 2nd to 4th.
