Grand Designs Live achieve record-breaking figures
Media 10 returned to Excel London for the 10th edition of Grand Designs Live and welcomed 106,201 visitors (pending audit) through the doors.
The show held from 3rd to 11th May achieved its highest ever numbers, up from last year’s record breaking ABC audited figure of 104,561.
The contemporary home exhibition showcased 620 exhibitors across sections including Grand Build, Grand Interiors, Grand Kitchens & Bathrooms, Grand Village, Grand Technology, Grand Gardens and Grand Food & Housewares.
TV broadcaster, design guru and live show host, Kevin McCloud, best known as the front man for Channel 4 series Grand Designs, helped celebrate self–build pioneers from the last 12 months with the show’s experts including George Clarke, Jo Hamilton, James Alexander–Sinclair and Charlie Luxton, among others, who hosted a series of talks and workshops, live from the Grand Theatre.
New features this year included 'Market Lane - Grand Food & Housewares', which offered demonstrations along with tasting and cookery schools and 'The Tech Box' - Grand Technology, an interactive walk-through experience showcasing the latest innovative gadgets and technology as well as lighting designs and systems for the home.
Show favourites also returned, including 'Ask An Expert' which offered specialist home building advice, and 'The Grand Village' which gave visitors the chance to explore eco-homes and green living solutions.
Event Director Nathan Garnett commented: "Our tenth London show has been a huge success; it’s great to see it continue to grow and develop over the years.
“The show has continued to attract local visitors as well as those from further afield who came to explore the latest trends in interior design and seek advice from top experts in the business. We look forward to another successful decade of Grand Designs Live,” Garnett added.
