Glasgow debut for BBC Good Food
BBC Haymarket Exhibitions is to role out its BBC Good Food Show at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in November.
Scheduled to run in Glasgow on the 2-4 November, the show will follow the formula of the organiser’s existing Good Food portfolio and will contain a showcase for Scottish produce. The event will also be marketed as a pre-Christmas shopping opportunity.
Commercial director of BBC Haymarket Exhibitions Laura Biggs, thinks the Scottish market offers superb opportunities for the show.
“Launching the show in Scotland provides a whole new customer base and Glasgow, with its excellent retail and leisure credentials, is a natural choice,” she says. “Readers of Conte Naste Traveller 2005 rated Glasgow as the number one city for eating out after London and the SECC’s city-centre location presents us with a fantastic opportunity to tap into a new, sophisticated audience.”
Meanwhile, director of exhibitions and events at the SECC, Morag Lawson, is equally excited.
“We’re obviously delighted to welcome the show to the SECC,” she says. “It is another high profile organiser and exhibition for the venue as well as a further indication of the City of Glasgow’s suitability to host large scale events. We’re looking forward to a highly successful launch in November 2007.”
