Eventia to combine UK and international awards for 2010
<p>Industry body Eventia is to combine its UK and international awards into a single ceremony for 2010, it has been announced.</p><p>The events organisation said that bringing the two sets of honours together will bring best practice in the industry more sharply into focus and allow for greater networking opportunities on the night.</p><p>Izania Downie, chief executive of Eventia, explained that the current situation, where the two ceremonies are staged within two months of each other and often entered by the same companies, had placed too much demand on firms to attend both.</p><p>"Creating the one event will mean even more recognition of projects, clients, agencies or suppliers as they will be competing in a tougher competition," she added.</p><p><a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="self">Event organisers</a> and industry experts will review the spread of award categories ahead of next year's ceremony.</p><p>This week, the Association of <a href="http://www.tsnn.co.uk/event_management_organisers/suppliers" target="self">Event Organisers</a> Excellence Awards take place at the Hilton on Park Lane hotel.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19219055-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
