Event Production Show launches ‘The Fest Factor’ competition
Aspiring festival and event organisers will be given a unique opportunity to pitch their ideas to industry experts with the launch of 'The Fest Factor’ competition at the Event Production Show.
The Event Production Show has been the annual meeting place for everyone involved in delivering fantastic events for 20 years. This exciting new competition, taking place on Thursday 19th February 2015, will invite candidates to pitch their ideas for new festivals or outdoor events in a series of 20 minute presentations covering their background, an overview of the proposed event(s) and business plan including estimated costs. A panel of judges will then pose questions before deciding if and what level of investment to make.
Liz Agostini, event director, explained: “Essentially we wanted to create a forum to expose new ideas and new talent to the market. The event industry is growing year on year and it’s important we provide opportunities to ensure fresh, innovative and unique ideas can be developed and brought to mass audiences. We felt The Fest Factor would be a fun way to embrace and achieve this.”
The Fest Factor will be held on the Main Stage and will form the focal part of the Thursday afternoon Show content. Mash Media is looking for interested contestants, be they start-up businesses or event management students, as well as festival organisers or promoters to form its judging panel.
Liz added: “We’re now on the lookout for participants on both sides of the competition. If you have a concept for an entire festival or outdoor event then please get in touch. Alternatively, if you have what it to takes to ask the tough questions and are willing to mentor applicants or even invest in their ideas, why not join the judging panel?”

The Event Production Show takes place at Olympia London from 18th-19th February 2015 and is co-locating with International Confex, making it the largest event buying arena for the industry. Over 200 leading suppliers will be showcasing the very latest, most innovative event products and services with more than 4000 of the industry’s key organisers attending to meet new suppliers, network with colleagues, discover new technologies and gather information at the workshops and seminars.
