ESSA on target for record number of new members in 2010
In the first six weeks of 2010, ESSA has received a record number of new
membership applications. If successful, these applications will deliver over 20%
of the ambitious 2010 new member recruitment target in record time. With
enquiries also running at an all time high, the association is set to exit the
recession with the largest membership on record.
ESSA Chairman, Steve
Barratt said: “This is fantastic news, to begin the year in this position shows
that ESSA is doing all the right things. It is delivering value and services
that our members and the industry want and we have not relaxed our standards for
membership or dropped membership fees.”
The association has previously
targeted 25 new members per year. This figure has always provided both modest
growth and replaced members who cease to trade in the year or who have left the
industry. In 2010 the ESSA Board doubled the target in a drive to provide the
members with an even stronger position and parity of voice across the industry.
2010 has already seen members who have left ESSA rejoining and David Wootton of
CMEX Ltd stated on his application form that he has rejoined because “an
increasing number of clients are expecting contractors to be ESSA
Members.”
“This is a clear indication that exhibitors and customers want
ESSA, because of the peace of mind it delivers and members want real value for
their fees rather than pay, play and hype.” concluded Barratt.
