Equinox Design at the V&A
Leeds-based stand design company Equinox Design, in conjunction with the V&A’s in-house design team, have just completed the construction for The Art of Lee Miller exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Lee Miller was one of the most original and creative photographic artists of the 20th century and one of the most renowned female icons – a unique individual admired as much for her free-spirit, intelligence and extraordinary career as for her classical beauty. The exhibition brings together many of the greatest images of and by Lee Miller, including works never before exhibited or published, including satirical drawings and some of the most disturbing photographs ever taken.
Equinox has turned the V&A’s creative concept for the exhibition into reality. The display comprises an entrance arch and dark walls in a high gloss. The walls delineate the different segments of Lee Miller’s life and career and each section incorporates an introductory text panel over a light box.
“As a designer, it is always a delight to work on projects where the subject is such an iconic figure, there can be few people working in the design field that have not heard or been influenced by Lee Miller’s work,” explained Chris Criscione, director of Equinox Design.
