Background:
Early client interest was shown in the
impressive gallery of past jobs on the Access Displays/Design Shop web site,
during March 2009. Initial discussions and briefings with Access Displays’ MD,
There were a number of parties involved in
the early stages of the project, including Graystone Learning Solutions, based
in Swindon and many conference calls
took place with LIME’s various Business Unit Managers and procurement

Brief:
The main requirement was for the stand to
have a ‘shop feel’ and photos of a typical outlet were supplied. The design
would feature well lit display areas, while the overall finish would reflect
the client’s strong colour branding.
In
addition, the construction method used would need to be suitable for assembly
on site by LIME staff.
Pitch:
It was proposed that the bespoke
infrastructure be built in modules, each fitted with cam locks for ease of on
site assembly. The main stand elements would be finished in high gloss, black,
white and pink laminate, and set on a click together slate effect, wood
laminate floor.
The overall quality ‘retail feel’ would be
further enhanced by a high level of display lighting throughout.
This approach was agreed and with only a
week available, from sign off to loading, construction began.
As well as the design concepts which
‘wowed’ all parties, the decision to appoint Access Displays was strongly
influenced by the company’s ‘24/7’
service ethos and its ability to work in partnership with LIME in the venture.

Phase 2 was conducted as a joint effort,
with LIME identifying many of the elements of the roadshow kit and using Access
Displays as a single source supplier and consolidation point.
