BIC plays host to RAF conference this weekend
<p>The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) plays host to the Royal Air Forces Association's (RAFA's) annual conference and exhibition this weekend.</p><p>Keynote speakers at the event will include the professional head of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and chief of the air staff, Air Chief Marshall Sir Glenn Torpy, and the president of the RAFA, Air Marshall Philip Sturley.</p><p>There will also be a parade through the seaside town, flypast and a service of dedication, weather permitting.</p><p>The conference, which rotates between Blackpool and Bournemouth, is big business for the towns and is expected to generate just under £700,000 for the local economy this year.</p><p>Peter Gunn, managing director of the BIC and Pavilion, said: "The association market is key to maintaining a busy diary of events and we are pleased to welcome back the RAFA annual conference this year."</p><p>Next week, the facility will also play host to over 2,000 delegates arriving for the Police Federation's yearly convention.<br/><img alt="ADNFCR-1753-ID-19167685-ADNFCR" src="http://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/justcopyright.gif?feedid=1753&it..." /></p>
