BAR 09 Is First UK Exhibition to Achieve 100% Real Time Self-Scan Registration
The most advanced exhibition self-registration technology came of age at UBM Live’s Bar 09. The event which recently ran (23 – 24 June) in Earls Court 2 proved that total use of Expo-Systems’ self-scan Go Green exhibition registration service is not only possible but highly effective.
Go Green is an exhibition registration technology system, pioneered by Expo-Systems, that essentially speeds up efficiency while at the same time saving time and significant costs. In doing so it also offers organisers an environmentally friendly and flexible solution to a massive range of visitor and exhibitor registration scenarios.
Essentially the system allows organiser to virtually manage their own registration by automatically sending an individual barcode via email or text on receipt of a visitor application. The recipient of the bar code simply uses a self service terminal at the show entrance to scan the code and print their own badge. From a visitor perspective the system is beneficial in that it provides more autonomy and convenience. Organisers also enjoy significant benefits with a drastic drop in fulfillment costs plus the ability to create a high quality, superior and hassle free welcome experience to visitors as they enter the show.
David Cunningham Managing Director of Expo-Systems says, “All our clients including many of the UK’s leading exhibition organising companies already offer the Go Green service as an option to their visitors alongside the traditional registration system of receiving badges in advance via the post. We pride ourselves on thinking outside the box and delivering a service designed to meet the needs of our clients which are usually unique in some shape or form. Now that Bar 09 has proved that it is possible to utilise the Go Green service 100% we anticipate more organisers will follow suit.”
Kate Disley Group Marketing Manger UBM Live explains, “The main reason for us taking the leap and going entirely ‘Go Green’ is that we were confident that the Bar industry are a very technology savvy community and they loved the speed and effectiveness of the system and it’s also great that we’re doing our bit for the environment too! The system reflected the forward thinking trend-setting nature of the show. I am extremely pleased with the results. Over 9,000 badges were printed at the self service terminal over the 2 days of the show but there was never a queue and conversion from pre-reg was higher year on year - resulting in very happy visitors, exhibitors and organisers!”
