AEV welcomes new members, arena:stadiummk and Kent Event Centre
The Association of Event Venues (AEV) has welcomed two new members to its ranks this spring. Arena:stadiummk, the 22,000 seater stadium in Denbigh near Milton Keynes and the 6,500sqm Kent Event Centre which is the largest conference facility in Kent.
AEV membership enables venues to work closely with members of the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) to increase the profile and significance of events within the marketing mix.
Andrew Harrison, AEV's account and communications manager, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Kent Event Centre and arena:stadiummk into the growing AEV membership. Both venues will bring new perspectives to the AEV and their decision to join shows a determination and desire to work with the rest of the industry on the development of the entire UK venue scene."
Dominic Fleming, arena:stadiummk's business development director and a keen supporter of AEV, said: "The Association of Event Venues is one of the cornerstones of the UK event venue business. The opening of our new, purpose built 3420m2 event space was the perfect juncture for arena:stadiummk to join the association. We're keen to share our own knowledge and understanding, and to take advantage of the many benefits of membership."
Alison Wallington, event centre manager at the Kent Event Centre, explained their decision to join the AEV: "We're on the brink of opening a new exhibition hall after working hard to grow the business over the last few years, and we decided that now would be the perfect time to join the association. The AEV offers us unparalleled opportunities for networking and winning new business. Membership allows us to contribute our experience and expertise through the various working groups, and gives us a degree of influence we would not have outside the association."
