A fabulous event for the whole family as Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes are brought to life! Enter the world of Miss Riding Hood as she journeys through the forest, watch as three pigs build their houses and hear all about a Tummy Beast…
Performance at 3pm - with a free mask-making workshop at 2pm for those attending the show.
6 musicians, 3 actors and some brilliant puppets form the cast for this spectacular telling of the famous Revolting Rhymes. Performed in the round, the performance is aimed at children aged 4-11 and their families with a mask making workshop beforehand to make your own mask to wear during the show.

The performance includes the Revolting Rhymes - Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and from Dirty Beasts, The Pig, The Tummy Beast and The Crocodile.
With words by Roald Dahl, music by Paul Patterson and Martin Butler, and directed by Petra Schofield, this is a fabulous production for anyone with children of primary school age! Experience what it’s like to be up close to a flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano played by professionals, and watch as the live action unfolds right in front of you to tell the dramatic stories… A MUST-SEE show!
Crescendo Concerts are relaxed concerts for children aged 4-11 to inspire young minds with top quality live music.
Crescendo Concerts put children right next to musicians. For us, this is vital if we want to inspire children to learn more about music. The music is amazing, the musicians are brilliant and there's lots of fun to be had! Our musicians are passionate about music. Music, to them, is what makes the world go round. They want to share that passion with everyone, but especially children, to inspire them to enjoy music, maybe learn an instrument, but most of all, to be receptive to all kinds of music. Sadly, live music in schools is rare nowadays. Children generally have no idea what instruments sound like when played really well, or what they look like. Crescendo Concerts aim to address this! We want to inspire and educate the next generation so they grow up knowing what an oboe looks and sounds like, why the bassoon is amazing and why the french horn is so cool.
“The programme was expertly played, and just the right length for the wriggly little folk”
“Concerts such as this are more important than ever, to remind us that music is special, is not stuffy and is above all, fun. Thank you.”
