With the launch of the delayed pathfinder trials of care.data due to begin in the autumn of this year, delegates and speakers will discuss of the work of the Standardisation Committee for Care Information and the Data Dissemination Advisory Group in overseeing data collection and distribution, and wider questions surrounding the collection and use of data gathered through care.data.
Further planned sessions look at the potential of using data to improve the personalisation and integration of patient care, and challenges and opportunities for IT in the NHS - including evaluation of progress on the objectives outlined in the Personalised Health and Care 2020 report, such as improving patient outcomes and reducing costs, and the target of moving towards a paperless NHS.
At this early stage we are delighted to announce that Tim Kelsey, National Director for Patients and Information, NHS England; Dr Chris Clayton, Clinical Chief Officer, Blackburn and Darwen Clinical Commissioning Group; Dr Charlie Davie, Managing Director, UCLPartners Academic Health Science Network; Andrew Fenton, Associate Director, NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit; Mike Merritt-Holmes, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Big Data Partnership; Ash Soni, President, Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Andy Williams, Chief Executive, Health and Social Care Information Centre have kindly agreed to speak at this seminar.
