You are warmly invited to sign up now for Falkirk Digital TeachMeet to be held on Thursday 14 May from 4.30pm in Bantaskin Primary School’s fabulous DigiDen (with refreshments available from 4pm). This will be during the National Digital Learning Week when schools around Scotland are invited to shine a spotlight on how digital technology is being used to support learning and teaching.
A TeachMeet is an informal gathering of those involved in learning and teaching, simply sharing ideas which they find to work in their educational setting. And it's free! As this is a Digital TeachMeet the focus is on the use of digital technologies to support learning (whether online tools, apps, websites, software, devices, etc). The theme of Digital TeachMeet Falkirk is the use of digital technology to enhance the learning of our learners. This is for educators from any sector and from any part of the country.
A TeachMeet works by people coming along and, for just a few minutes, sharing what works for them and their learners – you can come along and listen to others, or if you’d be willing to do so it would be great if you could share about some way you use digital technology to support learning and teaching. If you are sharing then this will follow the TeachMeet format in that anyone wishing to share will just share for a few minutes each. If it’s an online tool, site or a presentation you’ll be sharing about there will be a PC connected to a Smartboard from which to share, or if you’re sharing via an iPad a VGA-lightning connector and help will be provided if needed. Or just come along and talk! You don’t have to share, you can just enjoy what others share, but it would be really good if you could!
