The GCSEs are changing — are you ready? We’re launching the new GCSE history curriculum in 2016. History teachers, here’s your chance to get a head start! Our one-day seminar will focus on teaching GCSE medieval history.
With reformed and ‘strengthened’ History GCSEs taking effect in September 2016, students will be required to study at least 40% British History instead of the current 25%. Medieval History (500-1500) is one of the three key eras students will need to study.
This conference will focus on key aspects of the new medieval history components of the reformed GCSE curriculum, offering teachers a chance to develop their knowledge of this period and to network ahead of these new changes. Designed to support the professional development of teachers, the conference provides an excellent starting point for teachers preparing to instruct students in the new 2016 GCSE History curriculum across all exam boards. This event (as well as the forthcoming textbook) is a unique collaboration between history teachers at school (St Paul’s School) and at university (University of East Anglia).
