The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre contributes £336.3 million to the Glasgow economy.

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre contributes £336.3 million to the Glasgow economy. This is one of the key findings in a KPMG economic impact report commissioned by the venue in 2006
Not only do events at the SECC provide this amount for Glasgow, it is also revealed that Scotland as a whole benefits to the tune of £196.5 million. Another finding is that over 6,500 jobs are sustained in Glasgow as a aresult of the venue’s activities.
“In light of our continued growth and our expansion plans, we have commissioned this study which is based on established government guidelines and methodologies, known as the Green Book, to give a true reading of the impact of our business on a regional, Scottish and UK basis,” says SECC chief executive, Mike Closier. “The figures speak for themselves and our growth has been significant, if not outstanding.”
